small plants
I read about Kenji Kobayashi a while back in The Gardenista Blog . I actually wrote a small post on it. But I have never dabbled in this sphere of Bonsai. Until Taiwan. I have recently found Akadama soil and Fuji sand, small ceramic pots and little odd things to start crafting these small landscapes. I think the inspiration came from his book that I brought with me when I came back from holiday. It was worth the extra weight (backpack). The outcome is brilliant. But remember: the real challenge is not in putting it together but keeping these small landscapes healthy.
